I Like Home Movies
By Sylak

Almost anyone that frequents the Comedy Discussion part of the [adult swim] (that’s the only cool way to spell our beloved network’s name) message boards probably knows pretty well that I like Home Movies.  Like, a lot.  If I had a list of things I liked, Home Movies would be on it.  And probably near the top.

Ever since I first saw and only referred to it as “That Show with the Bad Animation” since I didn’t know what Squigglevision was and thought it was just that they couldn’t draw straight lines, I had a strange love for the show.  But then my family moved and we didn’t have cable for a while, and I couldn’t watch it at all.  Still, the show permeated my world.  I can remember once when, at chess camp (yes, I went to chess camp.  Shut up) I mentioned the show, and someone said their one of their relatives worked on it.

Dear God, I wish I had made friends at chess camp.

By the time I had gotten cable back and started regularly watching it again, the show was in its fourth and final season.  I remember reading on a webcomic site, of all places, that this was its last. I was crushed.  This show I really wasn’t that familiar with, and yet somehow loved, was gone.

So, of course, I did nothing and just sort of felt sad for a while.  Then more or less forgot about it. It wasn’t until I was confused about what the hell Perfect Hair Forever was that I joined the boards.  And then I started remembering that I like Home Movies, and am sad that it went away.

I also bought one of the scripts used by the animators.  And a certain board member got me Loren Bouchard’s autograph (signed to Sylak).

So, in summation, I like Home Movies.

(PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEAASE don’t stop reading stuff I write, the next one or the one after that will be MUCH BETTER)
